AFRO-CARRIBBEAN DANCE: THE DUNHAM TECHNIQUE LEVEL I

Learn the dance styles that originated in Africa and came to us via the Caribbean Islands and Brazil.  Our styles are based on the Katherine Dunham Technique, which builds strength through rhythmic exercises and develops coordination using movement involving isolation. Students should wear dance tights and/or sweat pants and have bare feet. A percussionist will accompany the class. The class is for beginners as well as for the more experienced dancer.
