HEALTH, FITNESS AND EXERCISE

IT IS ADVISABLE TO SEE YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM

FITNESS PLUS

Wendy Friedman, founder of the Slender Rhythms Method, now in its twenty-ninth year, has designed this program for everyone interested in improving overall fitness, flexibility and body tone. The program is ideal for both men and women, regardless of previous exercise experience. Each participant sets his/her own fitness goals and progresses at an individual pace. Fitness Plus is set to a wide variety of music and helps to eliminate the stresses of everyday life and create overall well-being.

A portion of the program will concentrate on body sculpting. These exercises are designed to shape, contour and strengthen muscle groups. Begin with light weights and work up to the maximum level, five pounds.  If you do not have weights, you can use your own body resistance.  Wear exercise shoes and bring a mat for floor work.

This portion of the program will place emphasis on abdominal muscles, hips and thighs, as well as overall toning, limbering and stretching.

The program will concentrate on body sculpting. The exercises will shape, contour and strengthen muscle groups. Students are encouraged to bring light weights up to five pounds (begin with light weights and work up to maximum level). If you do not have weights you can use your own body resistance.

KoBu Power is a resistance-based Samurai cardio-kickboxing program that sculpts the body and burns more calories than most kickboxing fitness classes. Scientific studies indicate that cardio-strength training helps increase metabolism that will promote the shrinkage of fat cells even when not exercising. KoBu Power is a workout based on the ancient discipline of Kobundo and Kenjutsu, the art of the Samurai. Using a weighted bar simulates the skills of a Samurai while music sets the rhythm for the routine. A KoBu Bar will be available for purchase from the instructor for $26.00.
