EFFECTIVE LIVING 

SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY FOR EVERY DAY LIFE

This class will provide an overview of the mental training skills athletes use to set
goals, stay focused and work through blocks. If you want to stay committed to living
your optimum life-style while creating your best work, these strategies can help keep

ADOLESCENCE: A SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR PARENTS
This course will review the stages of adolescence: preadolescence, mid-adolescence,
and late adolescence highlighting the developmental tasks of each phase.
The aim is to understand the behaviors and concerns of adolescents and to apply
these understandings to parenting issues and strategies.

Practice stress management techniques to keep yourself energized, inspired and

ECO-FRIENDLIER LIVING
Climate change, declining crude oil reserves and increasing population are becoming
more apparent each year. These factors challenge us to adapt, but interest in
them has declined, and many of the programs to address them have been criticized
and are ineffective. In this workshop we will discuss the specific steps each of us can take in
our homes, businesses and communities to effect necessary changes.

THE ART OF DRESSING

This class gives a unique perspective on the world of clothing, fashion and self reinvention.
Learn what dressing beautifully is all about, different ways of accessorizing
and how to refresh your existing wardrobe. Learn the do’s and don’ts of dressing and
how these rules have changed throughout the years. Please bring an outdated outfit or piece
of clothing to the last day of class. This can be an older purse, a jacket, a simple black dress
or any garment or accessory you would like to update. Get inspired!

MAKE-UP MADE EASY

Are you still wearing makeup the way you did years ago? Or do you avoid wearing make-up for fear of looking like a clown? Would you just like some tips to look even more polished? In this fast paced world, wouldn’t you love to get ready fast and feel you look great? Then this is the workshop for you! Come learn an easy 5 minute make-over, current trends to update your make-up, and ways to use your correct cosmetic colors to look younger and healthier. We’ll also add some tips for the holidays. Bring your own make-up if you’d like. We will also use other make-up testers chosen for your coloring. Please bring $10 to the class for materials and take home goodies.

BIKE 101 MAINTENANCE, SAFETY AND MORE
Bicycling is a great way to exercise and have fun doing it. It is an inexpensive way to commute
to work, run errands and travel around town. But, what happens when you get a flat tire? Can
you fix it, or must you call someone to pick you up? What happens if your bike chain breaks?
Is your ride over? In this course you will learn how to make these and other repairs. You will
also learn how a bike should fit you so you can ride long distances without pain and discomfort.
Whether you ride a road bike, a mountain bike or your faithful old Schwinn ten-speed, you
will learn something new from this class and bring your riding experience to the next level. A
list of basic repair tools will be provided at the first class session.

You can learn some new shortcuts that will help you streamline the process and clean your house or apartment from top to bottom in three hours or less. You’ll find out the answer to the age-old question of whether to dust first or vacuum first. You’ll learn the principle of “scrub-too-hard” and how it can make things dirtier, instead of cleaner. You will learn which products and equipment are essential for a professionally-done job. An optional booklet is available for $5.00.
