  IT IS ADVISABLE TO CHECK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE STARTING ANY PROGRAM.
 

TENNIS

Players must wear sneakers and supply their own racquets. Owners should write their names on equipment.                

LEVEL I - BEGINNERS: For those who have never played tennis before.                                  

LEVEL II – ADVANCED BEGINNERS: For those who have taken a beginners class and wish to move on to the next level. A basic knowledge of ground strokes and serve and volley is required. 

LEVEL III-INTERMEDIATE: For those who can sustain a rally and are ready to learn advanced strokes and strategy. Practice is combined with individual instruction.  

Bring an unopened can of tennis balls to the first class.

CO-ED VOLLEYBALL FOR A & B LEVEL PLAYERS

This class is geared to intermediate players. Volleyball skills or previous experience is necessary. The class will consist of skill reviews, drills and actual team play. Wear appropriate gym attire and sneakers (knee pads are optional). Play will be on a regulation size court.

RIDE THE DRAGON! PADDLING WORKSHOP

Dragon boat racing is the fastest growing water sport in the U.S.A. This is your chance to learn
how to paddle these magnificent 41 foot “canoes” with 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steers
person. The workshop includes on-land instruction on safety and paddle techniques before
going out on the Schuylkill River. A hearty snack and beverage will be provided after your river trip. Participants, including children over 14, will be issued life vests and paddles. Students are asked to bring a folding chair and a water bottle to the class.

SWIMMING

Following Federal recommendations, a 78ºF pool temperature is maintained at all times.You must supply your own towel, bathing suit and combination lock. It is advisable to check with your physician before starting any exercise course.
BEGINNERS courses are specifically designed for the adult who cannot swim. Progress is
made through the Standard American Red Cross Beginner Program of instruction.
ADVANCED BEGINNERS courses are for adults who have had limited experience in swimming
and its associated skills and who desire further expert instruction before venturing into deep water.
INTERMEDIATE courses are for adults who are able to maintain themselves in deep water.

AQUACIZE

Enjoy feeling weightlessness as you exercise in the shallow end. These aquatic routines are
low-impact aerobic exercises. Everyone is expected to get wet. Please bring two empty, 16oz. or larger water bottles with lids.

GOLF

Golfers at all levels, from beginners to experienced players, benefit from instruction and practice. Improve your game with group and individual lessons in the use of woods and irons as well as with supervised practice. Each student will rent a bucket of golf balls at a cost of $5 to $9 per session. Bring a 3-wood, 5-iron, 7-iron and pitching wedge to class. If you have a set of clubs, please bring the whole bag.
