Mary Brucker One poem
Tweed?
Black, white or gray, or is it tweed? A coat from afar, what color is it? Would it look black in twilight? Would it be gray in the sun? What color is that coat from afar? Oh, just a boring gray -- just a boring gun metal gray.
Black white or gray, or is it tweed? Black or white, woman or man, gay or straight, Disabled or not, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, does it matter? Many would say yes -- But shouldn’t we all just say --- love?
Black, white or gray, or is it the color in our hearts we really should see? The color of confusion and questioning, good and bad, love and hate, compassion in all of us.
Black, white or gray, or is it (really) tweed? Look closer at that coat. See the various colors -- woven together to a whole. Look closer to the woven tweed in each and every human heart.
