Nehru Nelson One poem
I Need Wings for
My Dreams
I need wings for
my dreams to make them fly
Far above the city landscape, into the night sky And up into the dark clouds where I turn to look below Then blast off to the heavens where the swirling galaxies glow I dare to wear the forces of infinity on my back, so let me try I need wings for my dreams to make them fly
I need wings for my dreams so they will glide After being hurled to the stars on a rocket ship ride Deep into the corners of the universe we can only see at night To places unimaginable in ordinary flight Where comets cannot run away nor distant planets hide I need wings for my dreams so they can glide
I need wings for my dreams so they will sing Like angels traveling from heaven on a prayer and a wing It is the wings that make angel songs sound so sweet As they flap out a divinely rhythmic beat Upon which all of heaven and earth gently swing I need wings for my dreams so they will sing
I need wings for my dreams to make them fly So they will travel high above the cloudy sky And zoom farther on to dimensions unknown Then float back down to earth having flown Through the universe in the blink of an eye I need wings for my dreams to make them fly
